Wiki is like a large, random conversation with all sorts of information that could be useless to one and an essential to another. With such a wide variety of information it is a very useful program.

A wiki is a collaborative website and authoring tool that allows users to easily add, remove and edit content. Wikipedia, the online open-community encyclopedia, is the largest and perhaps the most well known of these knowledge sharing tools, but with benefits that wikis provide the use and popularity of these tools is exploding.

Some of the benefits that make the use of wikis so attractive are:

• Anyone (registered or unregistered, if unrestricted) can add, edit or delete content.
• Tracking tools within wikis allow you to easily keep up on what been changed and by whom.
• Earlier versions of a page can be rolled back and viewed when needed.
• Users do not need to know HTML in order to apply styles to text or add and edit content. In most cases simple syntax structure is used.

After reading the library web 2.0, Library 2.0 and the future of libraries I was shocked to come to the realization that as the world is becoming more high-tech, that libraries are going to have to keep up some how, or get left behind. Iceberg article was a real eye opener to the problems of the library.

#13 of 23 Week 6: Tagging, Folksonomies & Technorati

I tried the del.icio.us website and found it complicating with its many things of its home page. It was hard to focus. I created an account and after several minutes i was able to get a basic understanding of how the website ran.

While i was browsing the del.icio.us site i came across an interesting video that i thought was funny.



I found the video funny and the how people in that time period was fascinated with being able to run different programs at the same time, now a days we that that for granted.
